New Carpet

After almost 9 years of use from kids, pets, etc. (and the fact that the builder put in the most basic of carpeting), we decided this was the year to replace the carpet!  We got three different quotes and finally decided to go with Empire.  They gave us the best deal and had what we were looking for.  We went with an upgraded padding that is non-permeable.  Good for pet stains and spills and definitely makes the carpeting so much softer to walk on!  We replaced all the carpeting we have (nearly 1500 square feet).  Our main floor only has three rooms that are carpeted and the rest is all hardwood.  The installers came on Wednesday, the 18th, around 11 am (yes, just 2 days after my surgery...I'm very grateful that my parents came to help if needed) and left around 2 or 2:30.  All of the furniture (thanks to my parents, our neighbors, and friends) has now been reassembled and put back in place.  We love the new carpeting and yes, I've turned into that crazy "Shoes off!" and "No food outside the kitchen!" person!  For now at least. :-)
