Happy Halloween!

The one thing I love about taking your child trick or treating on Halloween is the socialization is creates amongst all your neighbors.  It's also fun to see how creative people can get with costumes.  The only one thing I will never understand is teenagers trick or treating...especially when they are dishonest and empty unattended candy bowls (as one of our neighbors alerted others to on our neighborhood Facebook page).  Very sad.

Hailey had a great time!  She was so interested in everyone's costumes and each house's decorations.  I think she got so tired of us telling her to just take one candy that at a couple of the houses, she took a handful.  At one of those houses, Brian said, "Hailey, put those back and just take one."  She replied, "I can't read."  For those of you that have seen the commercial where the boy is tempted to take more than one candy from an unattended candy bowl and a little girl comes up and takes a handful and says she can't read, you'll understand the significance behind her excuse.  She's seen that commercial more than once and obviously tried to see if it would work for her, too.  Not if Brian or I had anything to do with it, but it was funny!  My mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, and nieces all came over to our house instead of passing out candy at their houses.  So, the night was a lot of fun!!

Partying is a tiring activity!
Checking out others' costumes and not sure if she should go near them.

Trick or treaters heading to our door.
This was also Natalie and Emily's first Halloween.
