Halloween Weekend

We had a fun & busy weekend!  On Friday night, we "Skyped" with Brian's brother, sister-in-law, and their kids...thank goodness for Skype!  It's fun to be able to "see" each other across the miles.  We hadn't seen them since the July 4th weekend, but will see them soon for Thanksgiving!  We can't wait!

On Saturday, we went to see "Mickey's Magic Show" at the Rosemont Theatre with my sister, brother-in-law, and Laura.  Mickey and company helped a magician perform several tricks...one where Princess Jasmine floated up into the air and they passed a hula hoop over her body to look like she was not connected to anything.  They had several Disney characters...Mickey, Minnnie, Goofy, Donald Duck, Belle & Gaston, Cinderella & Prince Charming, etc.!  The girls loved it.  Although, I think Hailey was a little scared initially since the last two times she's been in a theater where the lights are turned off have been movies that have scared her.

Halloween was today from 3-6 pm, so my family came over to celebrate.  Hailey & Laura have gone trick-or-treating together for the past 3 years, so it's becoming a tradition.  We stopped by Stephanie & David's first, so we could see their nursery they put together.  They painted the walls in yellow and have a crib, changing table/dresser, and rocking chair.  Now it needs shower goodies and then some babies!  My brother & Austin met us there.  They had big news for us...they got engaged on Friday!!  So exciting!  No date set yet.  Vince joked that it took him 3 years to propose, so he thinks he needs another 3 years until the actual wedding.  Yeah, that's not going to happen.  We do know that it will be in Minnesota, though.  I'm looking forward to that as we've never been there before!  When we got back, Hailey & Laura made their way around to several houses in our neighborhood until they literally told us they were done and wanted to go home.  The sun was starting to go down, the wind was picking up, and it was getting pretty cold.  We were thankful for decent weather for trick-or-treating, though!

Minnie Mouse & Belle...I forgot to get Hailey some black shoes, so socks and sandals it was.

Cute as a mouse!
