On Saturday, we did lots of shopping. We had several stores to go to, so it took basically the whole day. We were able to buy a few Christmas presents and birthday presents...our first for this season. Christmas is only 10 weeks away! My parents were watching Laura on Saturday night, so they asked if we'd bring Hailey over as well. Sure! They said they had lots of fun with them...especially a hide and seek game that had the girls trying so hard not to tell each other where they hid the object. Grammie was in on the game and would point to which room she had hid something. At one point, out of frustration with Grammie not being so exact on her "pointing", Hailey said, "Which way are you pointing, Grammie??"
On Sunday, we tried out a new church, but still didn't feel like it was a fit. We'll keep looking. If you're looking for prayer requests, please pray that God will lead us to the right church. It's such a difficult search. After church, we started making the rest of the applesauce (we used both kinds of apples (separately)...Macintosh and Courtland), put dinner in the crock pot, did laundry, and cut up vegetables for Tuesday night's dinner. Hailey played outside with the next door neighbor kids. We have a ton of leaves in our backyard that have fallen from our oak tree. We thought about waiting for all the leaves to fall before we raked them up, but I think we'll end up needing to mow the grass one or two more times. So, we'll probably rake some next weekend. I also need to get all of the plants out of the garden and prepare the soil for the winter. We'll mix some of the leaves into the soil since they provide essential nutrients. I also need to get some garlic and flower bulbs planted that will come up in the Spring.
We picked up the pictures on Saturday that we took at Sears last weekend. Here are some of my favorites:
Here are a couple photos from Hailey playing outside today.
Head first into the leaf pile.
Taking turns sliding into and raking up the leaf pile.
