Visit with Friends

Our good friends, Jon and Paige (and their boys), came up for a visit this weekend.  They live in the Indianapolis area, so we only get to see each other once or twice a year.  We wish it was more, because we love spending time with them!  On Saturday, we went to the Shedd Aquarium and the rest of the weekend was spent talking, relaxing, and fishing (well, the guys went fishing).  The kids had fun playing tag, hide and seek, watching a movie, or playing outside.  It was a very fun weekend!

The four kids...Hailey, Corrick, Clara, and Aviston.

Jon, Paige, and the boys with the Chicago skyline in the back.

Brian, the girls, and I.  Chicago is such an awesome city!

Getting ready to watch the 4-D show: Sea Monsters - A Prehistoric Adventure.

Touching the stingrays.

One of the stingrays splashed one side of its body above the water when the girl in the pink headband tried to touch it.  I caught everyone's reaction right after.

Clara likes to view things from Daddy's vantage point!

Checking out the dolphins.

And the beluga whales.

Sitting with a river otter statue.

Touching a live starfish.

"Mr. Jon" lifts Clara up to see out the big windows at Lake Michigan.

She spent some of the time as "Miss Paige's" shadow...wanting to sit by her and walk by her.  It was cute!

Aquatic show

We saw some large fish!

I love how you can see our reflection in the glass and still see the fish well.

This is the smaller Arapaima, one of the largest freshwater fish in the world.

Clara got about a 10 minute power nap in.  Just too much excitement and fun!

The large Arapaima.

Checking out a large Puffer fish.

Sharks!

Trying out a Chicago style hot dog.  Yummy!

They take your picture upon entrance to the museum.  When Paige and I were looking at how they turned out, we asked the girl why there was a big fish over Brian.  She said, "Was he wearing a green shirt?"  We said, "Um, yes he was." She then said, "He blended into the green background then."  We were laughing so hard!  We later decided that we should all wear green shirts the next time!

Check out the fish under Brian's arm. :-) Of course we had to buy the pictures.  They told us they could fix it so Brian didn't "blend in", but we told them not to.  That wouldn't be as funny!
