Applesauce!

We spent a good portion of Saturday making applesauce from the Macintosh apples we got up in Bayfield, Wisconsin a couple weekends ago.  We should be all set for the year now!  I love the taste of warm, freshly made applesauce.

Clara watches Brian use the Foley food mill to squeeze the cooked apple out of the skin.

The Macintosh's red skin gives the applesauce a beautiful pink color.

We ended up with 9 quarts and 16 pints (we also gave two pints away to a neighbor friend)!
