Pennsylvania Vacation: Day 4

Sesame Place!  The rain continued into Monday, so we hung out in the hotel room until it started to lighten up a bit (we almost considered finding something else to do for the day)!  Sesame Place was located directly across the street from our hotel, so we could easily walk there and back...avoiding the $15 parking fee.  It was nice!  We walked over about 11 am, rode a few rides, watched an Elmo's World Live show, and then decided to leave the park to get some lunch.  When we got back, we put our swimsuits on and headed back over to the park to do water rides.  We were already getting wet from the rain, so getting in the water didn't make a difference!  The girls LOVED the water rides!  The water was just a little cool due to the lack of sun, but the heat and humidity made it feel good!  A positive to a rainy day?  Less people and no lines!  We had Clara go down one of the smaller water slides.  Only one person could go down at a time, so she had to go by herself.  Brian said she started in a sitting position, but was on her tummy by the middle of the slide.  By the time she got down to me, she was still on her tummy, but the water was a little deeper and I had to lift her out fast before she swallowed any of it.  I'm not sure she'll forgive us for that one and she might also have a fear of water slides in the future!  We tried to give her lots of praise, though, for going down it by herself.  Hailey, on the other hand, felt comfortable enough to go on the bigger water slides.  She and Brian would race down two slides next to each other...the ride moderator giving Hailey a head start each time so she would win. :-)  She'd get to the bottom of the slide and give us a thumbs up!  We finished the water rides and left the park again to get some dinner.  We went back to the park after dinner just in time to watch a parade and ride a few more rides before the park closed at 8 pm (an hour earlier than advertised, which I'm sure was due to the low attendance and rainy day, but we were disappointed anyway).  Thankfully we bought a two-day ticket and could go back the next day!

Meeting the characters!  Clara did not want to hug them or get near them.

Riding some rides!
Elmo's World Live show!  Clara loved seeing Elmo!

Water slides!

See the bucket at the very top?

Hailey and Brian took a turn standing under it!

So tired!

Parade

The girls loved waving at and dancing with the characters.

Their souvenirs from the park were Abbey and Elmo.
