Little House on the Prairie Quilt: Block 7

The second block for the Little House on the Prairie book is one that represents the log cabin they built when they settled in Kansas.  The book goes into detail about how Pa built both their cabin and the stable for the animals.  It's amazing the amount of strength and endurance people had back then!  Cutting down and hauling logs for days, cutting notches in them to fit them together, rolling them up into place, and cutting out a spot or two for windows and a door.  Then Pa built a stone chimney for the fireplace.  A lot of work and no power tools like we have today!

We chose the log cabin quilt pattern for this block and used log-printed and wood-printed material.
