Little House On The Prairie Quilt: Block 2

For the second block of Little House in the Big Woods, we chose to do Pa's fiddle.  Pa plays his fiddle on several occasions throughout the book (i.e. lulling Laura and Mary to sleep on summer nights and providing music for a family dance).  The music always brought joy and happiness to whatever the occasion was, so we thought it would make a great block in the quilt.

One of the songs that Pa plays on his fiddle is "Oh, Susanna" (mentioned at the very end of the book).  So I was very excited to find this quilt pattern, also called Oh, Susanna!  It was meant to be!
