Planting Time!

I may have gambled a little on planting my tomatoes and peppers this early.  It's supposed to be 38 for the low tomorrow night, so hopefully they'll be ok!  Brian and I did a ton of outdoor work this weekend...laid mulch in all the flower beds, tied back the new section of raspberries, got all the trellises in place, made a new top for the new strawberry bed, mowed the lawn, planted all the vegetables, cleaned out the cars, and refilled all the bird feeders.  Phew!  We were exhausted by Sunday night...but we slept great!

We added more stakes and string to the newer section of raspberries (to the left).

The trellises will hold (from L to R) cucumbers, watermelons, and pickling cucumbers.

I've already harvested over 5 lbs of rhubarb in the past couple weeks!

Can't wait to be able to harvest the asparagus next year.  The garlic (left corner) will be ready to come out in July.

Brian constructed these simple trellises for the peas to climb.

I pulled this bunch of radishes out on Sunday.  I'll be having some yummy salads this week!

Some of the rhubarb I picked on Sunday.  Long stalks!

Now we don't have to share our good strawberries with the birds and chipmunks!

One of my garden fairies. :-)
