On Friday, we met with the Cranial Technologies team to have Clara evaluated. They said she has a moderate case of Brachycephaly and recommended she get the DocBand (helmet). We are waiting to hear what amount insurance will pick up (they cost around $3,600) before we proceed. She'll have to wear it for 7-10 weeks and 23 hours a day. We'll also have to come in weekly for adjustments (a 50 minute drive both ways...yikes!). They said it is great we came in now, because the ideal age to begin wearing it is 4-6 months as the brain is still dramatically developing and therefore easier to mold. If we don't fix the shape, she may have increased ear infections or problems with sleep apnea and snoring. They said we should hear back on the insurance by Tuesday.
After that appointment, we had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory before heading over to Brian's workplace for a quick visit. On Saturday, after picking out the blinds, we stopped by Sam's Club to get some batteries and ended up signing up with Direct TV. We have been really frustrated with Comcast raising their prices every year (they've raised them by $40 over the last 3 years!), so we were looking to change anyway. I need to check with Comcast tomorrow on what our bill will be to keep the internet and phone with them, so the plans to switch to Direct TV aren't set in stone yet.
A Hailey funny from the week...we were discussing what activities she would want to do when she got into school. I said, "Well, you could play basketball like Daddy. Or you could be a singer like Mommy." She said, "Can you sing?"
At the Cheesecake Factory...
The day after Valentine's Day
Funny story from this picture...Hailey had (unbeknownst to us) poured water on the living room carpet right in front of Clara's walker and was standing in it when I walked in. I asked Hailey why Clara's feet were out of her outfit and she responded, "Clara wanted to go swimming."
