Bathroom Remodel

We have begun the physical process of updating our master bathroom.  We have been learning and determining over the past year how we want it to look and how much it's going to cost.  We've gotten a numerous amount of quotes from remodeling companies as well as tile contractors.  We've sat through 4 two hour long presentations on "bath surrounds" and window replacements (we got sticker shock when they told us it would cost $1,900 to replace just one window).  We've visited several stores looking for the right tile, cabinets, light fixtures, faucets, mirrors, etc.  It's amazing how many decisions go into one small little room!!  So we are excited for finally getting closer to the finish line!  To save on costs, we are doing all the demolition ourselves.  We've hired an electrician and a tile contractor, but the rest of the installation and finishing work, we will do as well.  It's wonderful having a handy husband and father-in-law!

Grandma helped entertain the girls in the meantime.  Fezziwig always thinks he needs to be in the middle of the action, but no, we don't normally allow him to be on the table!

Walking into the bathroom.

We put a wall up on the right so that we can utilize a shower curtain instead of glass doors, which are a pain to clean.

This was where the cabinets and mirror were.  We are likely going to take down all the remaining drywall and put new up.

The inside of the shower...a niche on the back wall.  You can also see what the wall and floor tile will look like from the two samples on the floor.
