Parents' 40th Anniversary

We celebrated my parents' 40th wedding anniversary this past weekend at the lake house.  All of my siblings, their spouses, and nieces and nephews came up as well for a big family celebration!

Stacy brought up a large bubble wand that made huge bubbles!

Aunt Austin taught the girls some yoga moves one morning.

Aunt Stacy and the girls shucked some sweet corn for dinner one night.

The younger kids rode the ponies in town.

Playing ski-ball and air hockey.

Go-kart racing.  This is when David and Emily lapped Stephanie and Natalie.

Nathan relaxed in his stroller...he'll be riding the ponies and go-karts soon enough!

Uncle Brian tries a sneak attack on the twins before they get out of the water.

Getting ready to all jump in at the same time!

Uncle Brian and Adam attempt to catch some bluegill fish swimming nearby.

Motor boat, motor boat, go real fast...

In a bumper boat water shoot-out.

Adam was having fun sitting on the side of the boat with Poppy.

Brian was doing some snorkeling until he was attacked by some big fish.

Vince and David (who couldn't be left out of the bumper boating fun) spend some time in the water.

Nathan was loving watching all the action.

Adam loved reeling in his yellow "bish".

He hasn't quite learned how to release the button when casting just yet. :-)

Poppy and Brian took all the kids out on a boat ride one evening.

Nathan and Stephanie

Adam loved hanging out with Hailey.

Grammy entertaining Nathan.

Stacy and Adam who had put a rubber band in his hair since all the other girls were getting their hair braided at the time.

Hailey liked the braid that Aunt Stephanie put in her hair.

We took a family picture to start the actual anniversary celebration on Sunday.

Grammy and Poppy with all of their grandkids.

We ate lots of good food, cake, and drinks!

Celebrating 40 years of marriage!

Opening gifts we got for them.  Pillows for the lake house.

My siblings and I came up with 10 sayings/advice each that our parents have given us over the years to come up with a 40 years of advice book.

The kids danced to some 70's music.

Each of the five granddaughters got to try on Grammy's wedding dress which was handmade 40 years ago by their great grandmother.

We also did a lot of tubing!  Emily and Clara were the first to go.

The "big kids" got a chance to go.  Here Vince attempts to put a life jacket on and not fall off the tube!

Uncle Brian sticks his foot in the water to spray him and Laura on their ride.

Laura performs a water show move. :-)

Adam watches from the back seat.

Stacy and I were laughing (until our bellies hurt) at Brian's resemblance to Bernie in "Weekend at Bernie's".  Between his hat, sunglasses, and flopping around in the tube, we were in a fit of laughs!

Adam did not want to ride in the tube, but Uncle Brian figured out how to calm his fears.

Brian and David sunbathing in the tube.

David and his girls go out for a ride.

Hailey and Clara were having a blast on their ride!

It was the same for Hailey and Laura!

Natalie and Emily enjoy watching from the front of the boat.

The wildlife is so fun to see up there.  My parents feed around 10 hummingbirds each day...my dad has to refill the feeders twice in one day.

I saw this female Kingfisher on one of our boat rides.

This Bald Eagle was in a tree right above my parents' dock, so Brian caught this picture of him when he flew away.

I think we had the busiest dock on the lake!
