Birthday Celebration

We celebrated my dad's birthday this past Sunday at my parents' house (and I completely forgot to bring my camera!!).  My mom made one of my dad's favorite meals...creamed chicken over rice with pepper relish on top.  So so good!  My brother-in-law, David, tasted the pepper relish for the first time and really liked it.  He said, "Has this been around since I came in to the family (14 years ago!)?"  The answer was of course, yes...my parents actually make it.  That turned in to questioning Steph why she's been holding this back from him for so many years. :-)  Her reply was that she didn't really like it, so she kept turning it down when offered a jar.  Well, if David has anything to say about it, they'll be getting a jar going forward!

After eating, we sat around discussing various topics and the latest happenings when my mom mentioned that maybe the kids would want to run around outside for a little bit (they were full of energy!).  Steph said she didn't think it was a good idea, because she was sure that within 3 minutes, one of the twins would be crying because one of them got hurt or something.  We all gave her a hard time about over-worrying about that and so she gave in and let them go outside.  All the kids had gotten their coats and shoes on and were outside and the rest of us continued on with our discussions.  Less than two minutes later, the front door goes flying open and Clara comes running in (closely followed by Natalie), "Mommy, help, help!"  Natalie says, "Emmy fell in the mud!"  Stephanie then said, "I told you so!!"  It was so funny!  Hailey said that she threw the frisbee to Emily and when Emily was looking up and running to catch it, she tripped over a rock and fell into the mud.  

It was a very fun and entertaining celebration!
