Last week was Vacation Bible School at our church. I volunteered with the crafts this year since they had childcare available for Clara. It was really fun getting to watch the creativity the kids came up with! They loved the hands-on painting, gluing, and coloring! Clara got to join in on some of the VBS activities like Bible and story time, so she wasn't just stuck in a room for 3 hours. She really enjoyed getting to do that. The curriculum they choose each year has a take-home CD with about 10 songs on it. The kids perform 2 or 3 of the songs during worship on Sunday morning, so they are encouraged to listen to the music during the week to get familiarized with the words and refresh what they learn during practice time. We love the music on the CD's and listen to them even after VBS is over! Clara even sings along with Hailey and during one of the songs shouts, "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" in the correct spot and rhythm! It makes Brian and I smile every time! It was a great week!
This year's theme.
Craft time! She was working on a candle holder here.
Painting a paper snake.
Painting a t-shirt.
Getting some energy out prior to Bible and story time!
Clara getting to sit with Hailey during Bible and story time.
Waiting to shake "Godwin" the puppet's wing.
One of our pastors teaching the kids about the Good Samaritan.
Practicing the songs for worship on Sunday. Unfortunately, we were out of town, so Hailey wasn't able to join in the performance. :-(
