4-H & Fair

Another year of fun with 4-H and the county fair!

Her citizenship project prior to judging.

Blue ribbon!

Her second year in cooking and she received a red on her nut bread. It was still a little raw on the inside. The judge asked Hailey if we had ever calibrated our oven. I had no idea you could even do that! She'll re-try breads next year.

Entomology project prior to judging.

Grand and Best of Show!  She was also chosen as a State Fair delegate, but we decided not to go this year. It's a 3.5 hour drive and our summer has been really busy!

Displaying her skirt that was judged at the end of June. She was chosen as a State Fair alternate for both Clothing and Fashion Revue.

We volunteered in the 4-H pop stand at the fair on Wednesday and Friday and as a 4-H greeter on Thursday.

Having fun together!

The girls with Hailey's good friend, Morgan, and her brother in front of the Best of Show projects.

Hailey, Clara, and friends Corrick and Avi watch another group of kids do the bumper balls. Hailey, Corrick, and Avi got to do them right before this.

It was hilarious watching them! They said it was really hot in them and it hurts your neck when you get bumped and fall down.

Cousins Laura and Adam

Wristband day! They love the dragon roller coaster!

Bumper cars

Clara got to ride a pony...one of her favorites to do.

The owners had a good sense of humor. I'm sure many kids wanted to ride the "unicorn"!

Clara's and Brian's tradition of riding the ferris wheel together.

Clara can't wait to ride it every year!

They had a lot of fun on the slides. Up the stairs and down several times!
