Visit from a Friend

One of my best childhood friends, Cari, and her daughter, Maddie, came up for a visit on Saturday.  It had been a while since we had last seen each other, so it was great catching up!  If you didn't already know, Cari and I have been friends since preschool.  I cherish her friendship and especially because even if we haven't talked to each other in 6 months, we pick right up where we left off!  She's a great person!

My sister stopped by with the twins as well.  Stephanie is also friends with Cari's youngest sister, Megan.  They stayed for an hour and then left before lunch.  We ate some lunch and then Cari and Maddie left around 2 pm.  It was a great visit!

Hailey funny from the week...my mom told Hailey a "funny" story about their cat, Poley (short for Napolean), which Hailey repeats as "One day, Grammy got a wood chip stuck in her foot and Poppy had to get it out.  There was a little bit of water in the bottom of their tub and Poley jumped in the water and jumped right back out and started licking his paw" ("paw" being spoken in a heavy Southern accent). :-)  Obviously she remembered only parts of the real story my mom told her, but it made such an impression on her that she's told several people.  This past week, however, she managed to come up with her own "funny" story.  This one was about Daddy hurting his finger and Mommy had to get him a band-aid (this part is actually truthful).  Emma (our cat) then jumped into the sink filled with water, jumped right out and started licking her paw.  She tells this to Grammy and Grammy says, "That sounds a lot like Grammy's story, Hailey."  Hailey replies, "No. Yours is about a tub, mine is about a sink." :-)  Get it straight, Grammy! :-)
