Labor Day Weekend

We visited with Brian's family and extended family over the Labor Day weekend.  Brian's aunt (paternal) had an extended family get-together at her house in Ft. Wayne on Saturday and then Brian's parents hosted the maternal extended family on Sunday.  We always love any chance we get to see all of them, so it was a very fun weekend!  Brian's mom also helped me on Sunday put up 9 freezer bag quarts of sweet corn to have this winter!  Yum!

Enjoying the beautiful weather.

Brian's mom holds her grand-niece, Clare, and Brian's aunt holds her granddaughter, Evelyn.

2 generations of cousins!

Ava gives her second-cousin, Evelyn a kiss on the head.

A little practice before the corn hole tournament.

A stray kitten decided to join our party for the day.  The girls wanted to take her home of course!

The spectators included Brian's parents' neighbors, Stan and Sandy.

The kids played their own game of corn-hole after the adults were done.

All done! I can't even remember who won.

Brian's Aunt Lana has been battling Lyme disease for the last year and a half and has finally found a treatment that seems to be helping her feel better (we're praying it continues!).  The disease has been so debilitating that she needs assistance with walking as well as going from a sitting to a standing position and vice versa.  Sunday was a "good day", so with some help, she took a shot at a corn-hole toss.

We all thought it was funny that the kitten kept coming back to join us even if we took her around the corner a ways to see if she would return to where she came from.  Here the girls hide behind the tree to wait and see if she comes back. :-)
